Welcome to the NEW New York wine industry.New York State’s wine
industry is one of America’s oldest, dating back over 175 years. But it
is also one of the newest—since over two-thirds of the State’s 190-plus
wineries have been created during the past 15 years. All of the growth
has been in small, premium “farm wineries”, many of which are now
producing world-class wines.
New York’s strength is its
diversity—as a state, and as a wine industry. The diversity of people
from around the world makes New York one of the world’s most vibrant,
exciting, and creative states. The same is true of the State’s wine
industry, which produces a broader range of fine wines than almost any
other region in the world—giving wine lovers a wealth of tasteful
alternatives.
